Emalee Krulish tells the stories of important women throughout history who came to Chautauqua.
Praised for being a loving friend of women's suffrage in the years leading up to the ratification of the 19th Amendment, Chautauqua hosted some of America's most distinguished suffragists, including Carrie Chapman Catt, Susan B. Anthony and Anna Shaw.
Krulish, an assistant archivist at Chautauqua, will examine the roles of the Institution and Chautauqua County's common country women in bringing the suffrage movement to Chautauqua.
