Chautauqua School of Music faculty members Aaron Berofsky, violin/chair of School of Music Strings and his wife, Kathryn Votapek, viola, are joined by are joined by their award-winning sons, pianist and composer Charles, and cellist Sebastian to create the Berofsky Piano Quartet. Aaron Berofsky was the first violinist of the Chester String Quartet for fifteen years and has been concertmaster of the Ann Arbor Symphony since 2003. Kathryn Votapek was also a member of the Chester String Quartet for 15 years and now maintains an active career as a soloist and guest artist at chamber music festivals throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe.

This beloved series has moved online so that we can bring you great music from Chautauqua and around the world, right into your home. Chamber artists will be performing live and pre-recorded concerts, all curated especially for our Chautauqua audience and community. Performances will last approximately 40 minutes, followed by 20 minutes of conversation with hosts Deborah Sunya Moore, Vice President of Performing and Visual Arts, and Timothy Muffitt, School of Music Artistic Director. Audience members will be invited to submit questions for the artists and we look forward to stimulating conversation, which will all be moderated with our hosts, live from Lenna Hall at Chautauqua each Monday of the season at 4 p.m. EST.
