Sheri Fink analyzes the ongoing response to COVID-19 from her on-the-ground perspective.
Fink is the author of the New York Times bestselling book and 2014 CLSC selection Five Days at Memorial: Life and Death in a Storm-Ravaged Hospital, about choices made in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Fink also serves as a correspondent at the New York Times where she published the Aug. 10 article “Inside the Fight to Save Houston’s Most Vulnerable,” which depicts ongoing efforts to save lives from COVID-19 among the Latino population.
She is also an executive producer of the Netflix documentary television series “Pandemic: How to Prevent an Outbreak,” which premiered in January 2020.
