CHQ Assembly – Live from Lenna Hall
Join us for this special Monday edition of Into the Music with the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra featuring CSO violinist Anton Shelepov and cellist Igor Gefter in a duo recital performing virtuosic music from Handel/Halvorsen, Gliere, and Kodály. Outside of their summer roles in the CSO, Anton is concertmaster of the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra and Acting Assistant Principal Second Violin of the North Carolina Symphony, while Igor is a member of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Both were born and trained at top music conservatories in Russia before their musical expertise led them to settle in North America.
Into the Music with the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra
Into the Music with the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra is a series featuring individual members of the CSO. Created in collaboration with the musicians, these evenings will be unique programs, allowing audience and community members to connect with the musicians of the CSO about music-making, music-makers and music as an essential part of life.
About Chautauqua Institution: Chautauqua Institution is a community on the shores of Chautauqua Lake in southwestern New York state that comes alive each summer with a unique mix of fine and performing arts, lectures, interfaith worship and programs, and recreational activities. As a community, we celebrate, encourage and study the arts and treat them as integral to all of learning, and we convene the critical conversations of the day to advance understanding through civil dialogue.
