Nina Khrushcheva is Professor in the Graduate Program of International Affairs at The New School, author of The Lost Khrushchev: A Journey Into the Gulag of the Russian Mind, and biological great-granddaughter (and adopted granddaughter) of former Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev.

Khrushcheva is a senior fellow of the World Policy Institute, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Kreisky Forum for International Dialogue, and an editor of and a contributor to Project Syndicate: Association of Newspapers Around the World. Previously, Khrushcheva taught briefly at the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, and held a two-year appointment as a research fellow at the School of Historical Studies of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. She also served as deputy editor of East European Constitutional Review at the New York University School of Law. In 2013, the Carnegie Corporation of New York honored Khrushcheva with their Great Immigrants: The Pride of America Award.

Her writings have appeared in Newsweek, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Financial Times, among other publications. In addition to The Lost Khrushchev, she is the author of the book Imagining Nabokov: Russia Between Art and Politics.

Khrushcheva holds degrees from Moscow State University and Princeton University, where she received her PhD.
