Amy Chua dissects tribalism and identity politics within the American political spectrum. The John M. Duff Professor of Law at Yale Law School further discusses demagogic politicians, political tribes and threatened demographics.

Chua, named one of Time’s 100 most influential women, is the author of several books including Political Tribes: Group Instinct and the Fate of Nations; World on Fire: How Exporting Free Market Democracy Breeds Ethnic Hatred and Global Instability.

“We all know that America is in the grips of political tribalism,” Chua says. “We lament and we condemn this tribalism, even as we can’t help voraciously engage in it.”
