CHQ Assembly is the digital expression of Chautauqua Institution — a nonprofit organization that exists to explore the best in human values and the enrichment of life. This exploration takes place in an interdisciplinary and intergenerational way that is characterized by a unique commitment to upholding the dignity and contributions of all people. We invite you to join us in exploring critical issues of the day through a range of experiences — lectures, artistic experiences, master and enrichment courses, and conversations — that combine to call you to your best self for a better world.
This arts integrated lesson leads children, families and teachers through the joy of “singing a story” as Deborah and her daughters share a musical story time with you. The five stories recorded were created for PreK through 2nd grade and explore relationships between reading comprehension strategies and introductory elements of music with colorful and fun picture books. The lessons are meant to be interactive for the whole family – gather round and sing your story time!

About Chautauqua Institution: Chautauqua Institution is a community on the shores of Chautauqua Lake in southwestern New York state that comes alive each summer with a unique mix of fine and performing arts, lectures, interfaith worship and programs, and recreational activities. As a community, we celebrate, encourage and study the arts and treat them as integral to all of learning, and we convene the critical conversations of the day to advance understanding through civil dialogue.
