2019 CLSC author Dan Egan discusses with Chautauqua’s Emily Morris the historical and ongoing mismanagement of America's Great Lakes. Egan, a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter, provides a look into his book The Death and Life of the Great Lakes,a brief history of his reporting career and snapshot of the lakes’ current state.
Egan is a two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist who began reporting for the Journal Sentinel in 2002.
“As it happened, I was thrown into it in a place that had a lot of ecological issues that were really national issues at the time,” Egan says of beginning his coverage of lake issues.
